Journalist proclaims liberal bias in media
web
posted May 30, 2009
Dear Editor,
For almost 20 years now I've worked entirely in the television
business. And while the vast majority of that has been in the
outdoors field, I often worked weekends at my local NBC affiliate as a
field producer when I first got into the business. Even at the
local level I was surprised to find that the vast majority of the
decision makers at the station were liberals who leaned far left in
their political views. Hence, I often failed to notice stories
that I'd produced in the field after the final editing process had
taken place.
As of late, you would have a hard time watching a news broadcast by
CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, or MSNBC without hearing the words torture or
waterboarding. In fact, the mainstream media has gone into such a
feeding frenzy against the former Bush Administration on the issue of
torture that I can no longer watch a broadcast. Is there not a
single person in the mainstream media that can admit that the
waterboarding of terror suspects no doubt yielded highly sought
information regarding enemy movements in Iraq? Can you honestly
doubt that these procedures didn't save the lives of hundreds, if not
thousands of American soldiers? There's a reason that the Obama
Administration has forbidden the CIA to share any more information on
the waterboarding of these individuals. It's because they don't
want the American public to hear the good that came from it.
However, on the flip side of the coin, in the midst of their slobbering
love affair with President Obama, they offered nothing but praise for
the man after he "green lighted" our Special Forces to shoot 3 Somali
Pirates in the head. That's 3 dead Somalis in exchange for one
American life. Former President Bush waterboarded several terror
suspects in order to gain information that saved thousands of Americans
on the Iraqi battlefields only to be demonized by the liberal
media. President Obama kills 3 Somali teenagers in exchange for
one American life and is treated like a hero.
How far will the mainstream media be allowed to go?
