Writer adds to letters of support for Baldwin in SC House 83 race
web
posted June 4, 2010
Dear Editor,
I would like to urge the voters of South Carolina House of
Representatives, District 83 to vote for Dea Baldwin in the Republican
primary on June 8, 2010. Dea is running for the seat currently held by
Don Smith, who is retiring after many years of meritorious service.
District 83 includes North Augusta, Belvedere, and the Merriwether area
of Edgefield County.
I have known Dea and her family for twenty years, and I can assure the
voters that Dea will be willing to commit many hours to carefully study
all of the issues facing the State. Her great communication skills and
outgoing personality will enable her to successfully work with the
other elected and appointed government officials.
Dea is a conservative Republican who believes that the state must
provide the framework for the local school districts to improve the
quality of education provided for our children.
Dea will work to improve the state’s economy by modifying laws to
encourage business growth which will result in additional jobs for our
citizens. Dea believes the state tax laws need to be completely
overhauled, since the current tax system has become an entanglement of
exemptions and exceptions which has resulted in inefficient and
inadequate services. Dea believes that state government must be
open and transparent.
She will work to ensure that all state government business, including
bills and voting records, are published on the state website.
Dea would like to encourage all voters to contact her to discuss issues
that are of concern to them. You can find Dea’s contact information
(phone, address, and email) and more information about her positions on
the issues at: electdeabaldwin.com.
