School Board candidate says "Students before politics in Edgefield
County"
web posted August 19, 2010
Dear Editor:
To the people of Edgefield County I originally wrote this to my
Facebook group Michael Crim for Edgefield County School Board. I
thought I would now share it with the rest of the public
A new school year has begun, and very soon the school board elections
will be held. Most of the members of my group are not residents
of District #2; however, most of you are residents of our great
county.
I need all of you who truly support my candidacy, both in District #2
and elsewhere in the county, to help me now by discussing the election
with others you may know. Talk to your neighbors and families
and, of course, people you know who will have the opportunity to vote
for me.
I have very limited resources, and I do not plan to spend a small
fortune on my campaign. Instead, I plan on getting out and
talking to the residents of District #2. Being visible will be my
primary strategy. I will tell others my philosophy concerning the
role of the school board and also the role of public education. I
ask you to talk to your co-workers and neighbors starting now.
Many educators have expressed an interest in these critical elections,
and most feel they have a major stake in the outcomes. We all
have a chance to make a major difference in the composition of our
school board, but we must be vocal and not afraid to discuss the
importance of this election with our co-workers.
District # 1 and District # 5 are also on the November ballot. To
say the least, those two ballots have some fine candidates on
them. Because of these candidates, the philosophy of education
that the current board has adopted could be changed. If you
support that change, please be vocal concerning those candidates as
well.
Obviously, we need changes in this county, and those changes will occur
only if we all work to make it happen.
Please support my philosophy: Students before politics in Edgefield
County.
Michael Crim
Candidate for Edgefield County School Board District #2
