Writer seeks STH 1979 Football Team members for reunion
posted September 1, 2009
Dear Editor: To the 1979 Strom Thurmond
As the head football, coach at Strom Thurmond, I try to instill, in my
players the same principles that you were taught in 1979. I was an
assistant to Coach McAlister in, the mid 80’s so I feel obligated to
make sure those principles are still taught. I try to draw from the
history of our program in my talks to the players.

and tell them they have inherited the chance to be a part of a great

to see it and be a part of it. I would like for your 1979 team to be
recognized for the 30 year anniversary of the upper state championship
and this will be Friday, September 18 at our home game vs. South Aiken.
