Writer Claims Defense Budget Should Be Cut, End Wars

web posted September 6, 2011

Dear Editor:

I am truly sure that most Americans are sick and tired of hearing about The National Debt and how the very bureaucrats and politicians that put us into this situation are going to repair it !  If the final plan is to balance the budget on the backs of the elderly and the disabled; who are getting their rightful Social Security Disability; then I must say that the over-bloated budget of The Defense Dept. needs to sacrifice as well !

I wonder, “ Just how many Americans truly, truly believe that the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are truly needed for the security for our nation “ ?  I wonder how many elderly and disabled must give up some of their very, very meager income for the sake of a very over-bloated U.S. Defense Dept.

I, for one American, am not afraid to say, “ We, as a country, can not put the blame of an unbalanced budget on the backs of the elderly and disabled ! “

These  reckless and unnecessary wars in Iraq and Afghanistan must; I say must; come to an end as soon as possible because The U.S. has lost too, too many American Troops and too, too many tax-payer dollars for absolutely the wrong reasons!

It is well past time for the do-nothing, over-paid bureaucrats and politicians in Washington, D.C. to finally do their jobs and find a better way to solve these problems!
