Revered Educator endorses Clark and Wates for School Board

web posted October 6, 2010

In just a few weeks, the voters of Edgefield County will have the opportunity to cast a vote to fill contested seats on the Edgefield County School Board.  A number of well-qualified candidates have submitted their names for our consideration.

As an Edgefield County teacher for many years, I have always been interested in having a Board of Education that can provide the best educational environment possible for our children.  Our county has a history of Board members who have been able to provide the leadership necessary to assure a quality education.

As important as it may be for our Board of Education to be comprised of persons of varied strengths, this election year gives us an opportunity to elect two individuals with backgrounds in education.  This background includes college degrees in the field of education, years of experience as classroom teachers, and a number of years in administrative positions.  Who could better be asked to make crucial decisions in the field of education than individuals whose education and vocations have prepared them to choose wisely?

We do not have this opportunity often. Please consider Bridget Clark in School Board Seat 2 and Carroll Wates in School Board Seat 5 when you cast your vote in November for the contested positions on the Edgefield County Board of Education.
