Four more years for Shane
posted October 15, 2008
State Senator Shane Massey has been a breath of fresh air for the
people in Aiken, Edgefield, McCormick, and Saluda Counties. The first
reason is because he’s authentic. The real deal. A true
servant of the people of District 25. He loves the law and
believes it can be a tool for making peoples’ lives better.
There’s another reason to be excited about his leadership.
Shane’s committed to being accessible. He’s literally only a
phone call away. He enjoys helping his constituents find
solutions to the problems that plague their every day lives.
In addition, Shane’s probably the hardest worker I’ve ever met, going
all the way back to his days as a student in my class in high school
and now as he trains my school mock trial team every week to get them
ready for competition. He has used this same relentless energy in
putting the legislative process to work to improve the lives of the
people of his district. Since being elected last November, Shane
has introduced legislation to cut pork barrel spending, helped pass
immigration reform, helped strengthen DUI laws, and is working to
develop a responsible energy plan for South Carolina. Want to
know what’s happening in Columbia? Want to tell him your
concerns? If talking by phone doesn’t suit you, there will soon
be a town hall meeting in your neck of the woods. Shane has
hosted more than two dozen of them in the past ten months.
Finally, there is Shane’s impeccable character. The moral compass
that guided his youth continues to direct his path as a professional,
family man, youth mentor, church leader, and legislator. I’m
convinced he will continue working to make our government transparent,
accessible, and equitable. I ask you to help re-elect Senator
Shane Massey on November 4th.
