Letter to the Editor

Sister says Faust ready to lead

web posted November 3, 2008
Dear Editor,
As the older sister of the County Council District One Republican candidate, Trace Faust, I would like to remind everyone that Election Day is just a few days away.  Everyone in District One is encouraged to get out and VOTE for a change - a change so desperately needed in our county.  I can assure you that if elected, Trace will take his job as your new county councilman very seriously and work with you and fellow council members to ensure improvement in the way the county council conducts the business of Edgefield County.  As a business owner, Trace has the experience to aid in making such decisions.

Our family has been in Edgefield since the early 1970's.  We grew up on a dairy farm and learned the value of honesty and hard work at a very young age.  Trace and his wife, Cheryl, are now raising their three children, Sheila, Brittney and Tracie, with the same values right here in Edgefield.  Trace's experience in numerous aspects of the community makes him the best qualified candidate for the office.  Allow me to share several of these experiences with you to help you better understand his commitment to the county / community.

  • Member, Little Stevens Creek Baptist Church
  • Deacon / Chairman of the Deacons, Little Stevens Creek Baptist Church
  • Owner, Lucas Refrigeration, Inc.
  • Reservists, South Carolina National Guard (20+ years)
  • Coach - Edgefield Recreation League Softball
  • Volunteer Fireman - Edgefield Fire Department
I can assure you that Trace believes in open government and that the voters should be knowledgeable about the issues that come before the County Council.  He has spent the past month holding town meetings in various sections of District One in an effort to discuss the issues facing our county with his constituents.  I encourage the citizens of District One to attend the Council meetings and actively participate in order to bring to the floor the issues that concern them.  I am confident that Trace will strive to achieve unity and a cooperative atmosphere between the county council, you as constituents, and the county officials and employees as a whole.

I believe that we should take measures to alter the path that has been chosen for the county by others and improve our community allowing it to be recognized as the best place to live.  This can be done, but the proper representation is needed to make this happen and I believe Trace has the background and the love for Edgefield County to bring about the changes Edgefield County needs and deserves.

Trace will be a voice that will be heard on county council and he will stand with you to do what is right for our county.  I can assure you that he will always be available to speak with any resident in order to provide the utmost constituent service and address your concerns at the county level.

Please go to the polls and vote for a change - vote for the best man for the job - VOTE TRACE FAUST FOR DISTRICT ONE.  You won't be sorry.  Together, we can make a difference.
