Edgefield Mayor Highlights Holiday events in town

web posted November 17, 2010

Dear Editor,
There will be Snow, Shopping, Hot Chocolate, Christmas Tree Lighting, Parade, & Santa!

The Holidays are just around the corner. Our Town will be beautifully decorated again this year and we have ten or more events scheduled. The first two are:

November 18th – Merchants Christmas Open House 4-8 pm

November 26th – The biggest shopping day of the year and
the Mayor’s Annual Christmas Tree Lighting on
Town Square at 5:30 pm

Again this year, I am asking our citizens to “shop local” and support our hometown merchants. Then, when you are finished shopping meet me on the town square at 5:30 pm for the Annual Tree Lighting. There will be singing, cookies and hot chocolate, and Santa of course. You can even get your picture made with Santa!!!

There are number of other events planned.  Please watch our local cable channel 16, the newspapers and the Town’s Facebook page for more events and details.

It continues to be a pleasure to be your mayor and experience first hand, the spirit and enthusiasm happening in Edgefield. In all the excitement of the holidays, let’s not forget the real reason we celebrate. Take a moment and reflect on the true meaning of the season and try and spread a little joy to those who may be less fortunate this year!

As always, thank you for your continued support and for “SHOPPING EDGEFIELD FIRST”.
