Writer bemoans “ultra-rich”: supports healthcare takeover web posted November 23, 2009 Dear Editor: Over the past month or so, both Houses of Congress have just; by the slimmest of margins; passed the “green light” to consider Health Reform. I am taking this opportunity, during this Holiday Season, to say just how I feel about this very controversial issue. I would vehemently urge the majority of Americans; with health insurance; to think, to truly think, about the 47 million Americans that do not have the much needed safety net of health insurance! As an American who has enjoyed the much needed safety net of health insurance for most of my 51 years of age, I can not, for the very life and breath of me, understand how the majority of real Americans can continue to refuse this much needed safety net to all, i repeat; all Americans! I constantly hear the conservative Democrats and Republicans bring up the matter of cost. I ask you, “What about the hundreds of billions of U.S. Taxpayer dollars that went to ultra-rich wall streeters, bankers, and the automobile companies?” Are these ultra-rich people any more of Americans than the 47 million true Americans that suffer without the much needed safety net of health insurance!
