Letter to the Editor

Johnston Development Corporation thanks all involved in Christmas Tree Lighting Success

web posted December 3, 2010

Dear Editor:
On behalf of the Johnston Development Corporation, I would like to thank all those involved in making the Community Christmas Lighting Ceremony a success.

Especially, I appreciate the efforts of Stuart Smith and his hard working crew in the Public Works Department and Chief Chris Aston and his Police Department.  The Elementary School chorus, the student lighting participants, the School faculty and staff, Frank Nicholson, and Matthew Herring and Laura Wintrow added so much to the festivities.

Thank you also to Debra Aston, Bill Johnes, Dean Campbell and my fellow JDC Board members for their participation and to the Town Council for their permission to use the Town facilities. Furthermore, thank you to Buddy English for the delightful snow he created, to Santa Claus for his appearance and to all the local media who helped advertise this event.  And, of course, I appreciate all the community citizens who attended the ceremony.

The Development Corporation wishes all Community residents a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  We look forward to enhancing this ceremony in the years to come.

Remember to shop at home this year! The Farmer’s and Artist’s Market will be open each Thursday from December 9th thru 23rd from 4-6pm.

Andy Livingston
Project Chairman

Editor’s note: Andy Livingston is Mayor of Johnston
