Writer says immorality should be punished
web
posted December 5, 2009
Dear Editor:
With the resent news blasts about Tiger Woods and the couple who
“crashed” The State Dinner at The Whitehouse, I would like to voice my
opinions about these and more public examples of rule-breaking and
immorality.
First, let me say that all of us are human and; therefore; “have fallen
short of The Grace of God”. Having admitted that; however; I can
not believe, nor do I agree with, any of the rampant examples of
rule-breaking and immorality that we have witnessed over the past
several years! The examples that come to my mind are: Pres. Bill
Clinton, U.S. Sen. John Edwards, the former Gov. of New York, Michael
Vick ( football QB ), Coby Bryant ( Basketball player ), The former
Gov. of Illinois ( alleged to try to sell Obama’s Senate seat ), and;
the most resent ones; Gov. Mark Sanford, Tiger Woods, and the
“Whitehouse State Dinner crashers”. I am quite sure that you can think
of even many more examples!
I truly believe, we all can agree, these are examples of rule-breaking
and immorality! I believe these examples beg the answer to the
question, “Should immoral behavior be punished?” I personally
believe that the whole of humanity has wrestled with this issue;
always! I am not God, nor is any other human being, but I truly believe
when immorality goes un-punished; we are all damaged! As a
society; an America; that was formed out of rules and laws based on
morality, I say that we; as a humanity; must punish such acts of
immorality so that future generations will absolutely know the
difference between right and wrong!
