Writer complains of "Vulgar" Rap "Music" Blasting from Driver's Vehicle at Store

web posted December 22, 2011

Dear Editor,
While filling my truck at a gasoline station in Johnston (Tuesday) I was subjected to a young man pulling in with his "music" at a very loud volume, getting out of his Avalanche truck, and leaving the truck door open while he entered the store making what was loud louder.  If this was not inconsiderate enough, his rap "music" contained enough expletives to make a drill sergent blush.

Two ladies inside the store were also subjected to this high decibel audio assault.  The young man made his purchase and was on his way, a trail of filth emanating from his vehicle for all with ears to hear.

We could discuss ad nauseum the decades long moral and cultural slide that has produced such readily available filth, and the people who see nothing wrong with it.  Rather, I propose we begin fighting it.  Ordinances should be passed and/or enforced pertaining to what people should be subjected to in public places.  Laws instruct, and should be used to guide our people as to what is unacceptable behavior.  Obviously, there are many out there without a clue.

Dan Henderson
Johnston
