Livingston is seeking the office as Mayor of Johnston in the April 2010
election. "I am announcing my intention early because I am eager to
serve my hometown. I believe my occupational experience will help me
lead the Town in these difficult economic times,” Livingston saidMr. Livingston said he is seeking the Mayor’s job for many reason, among them, “As a lifelong resident, I have a vested interest in our future and I want to see Johnston grow and prosper, and bring our community together to face the challenges of the 21st century". Running for office is not new to Mr. Livingston, who is a certified public accountant. He has been elected and reelected to a seat on the Edgefield County School Board since 1994 and served as a past chairman. He has also served on the Johnston Development Board since 1982, is a member of the Edgefield Alliance, and was chosen Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year 2008. His main platform if fiscal responsibility, more community involvement, and sustained leadership growth. Quick Facts The election is non-partisan. The term of office for Mayor is four years.
