Fire
reported at Sportsman's Corner Monday morning

manager and a co-worker at Sportsman’s Corner had to call 911 to report
smoke in the office Monday morning around 9:00 am. Dispatchers told
them to get out of the building and await firefighters to arrive on the
scene. Within minutes, two fire trucks arrived to assess the situation.Firemen could not find any fire but the heavy smell of smoke permeated the building. Manager Donna Gay said she was sitting in the office when a breaker in the fuse box clicked off. She reached over to reset the breaker and when she did “it popped, and smoke started pouring out of the ceiling,” Mrs. Gay said. Merriwether volunteer firefighters checked the store for about twenty minutes and determined the building to be safe. An electrician was called to repair the electrical problems. For
