Local Race Car Driver Needs Public's Help to win $50,000 Sponsorship

web posted January 21, 2014

MERRIWETHER – Local race car driver Cla Knight needs help from his hometown to win a $50,000 sponsorship for Champion Spark Plugs and become the face of Champion for his 2014 racing season. The way the competition works, each driver had to submit a video of their racing skills and why they deserve to be the next face of Champion Spark Plugs. Now it all relies on the votes.

Voting began January 6 and will run through February 2.  Everyone can vote once a day at http://www.alwaysachampion.com/search-for-a-champion/entries, then search Cla Knight in the search box.

‘With the help of Champion Spark Plugs, we could have the opportunity to chase a point series in 2014,” said Knight.  “I should be the next face of Champion Spark Plugs because I have the heart, drive and determination of a champion.”

Cla Knight, driver of the #42 race car, started racing go-karts in 2008 at the age of 12.  In his three years on go-karts, Knight won a total of 11 championships and 60 races.  In 2010 alone Knight’s last season on go-karts, he won 9 championships and 40 national wins.

Knight has been racing Crate Late Models for the past 3 years and has had 15 top 5 finishes, 30 top 10 finishes, 4 DNFs and has won at FASTRAK sanctioned Toccoa Speedway race in August 2012.

“I have dedicated my life to racing.  From graduating high school a year early, to racing full-time in Mooresville, I am striving for my goals and dreams to one day race in the NASCAR circuit,” said Knight.

Cla Knight Racing would also like to thank their other partners Precision Suspension, Barry Wright Race Cars, Byron Koury Engines, Chris Madden Racing (CMR), Rod End Supply, Simpson, Valken Racing Wheels, BKP Art, Bert, Frankland Rear Ends, KRC Power, Sweet Manufacturing, LJ Dezigns, Jury Pest Control, Town and Country Packing and Augusta Aquatics.

Knight comes from a family of racing and is a third generation racer following in the footsteps of Jimmy Deason, his granddad, Ken Knight, his dad and Deanne Knight, his mom. For more information about Cla Knight or Cla Knight Racing visit his website at http://www.claknight.com
