Enclosed Trailer, Racing Bikes, Tools and Gear Stolen

MERRIWETHER – An enclosed trailer, two
motorcycles, tools, racing gear, and other property was stolen from the
fenced property around Carolina Covertech on Shortcut Road early Sunday
morning. The 28 foot long trailer containing the motorcycles and
equipment, with a value topping well over $12,000, was not noticed as
missing until Tuesday morning.
The trailer is described an a black enclosed 2010 King America trailer
with a silver top is a model number 8.5X28TA-5200 with a Tow Corps
Cargo paper tag on the back. A VIN number given is 517BE2823AD001283.
The trailer is valued at $7,500.
Inside the trailer were two motorcycles, a 2008 KTM 50 SX dirt bike,
orange in color valued at $1,000 (VIN # H3920088000987GE16) and a 2009
Kawasaki KX65A9FA dirt bike with white, green and black coloring valued
at $4,000 (VIN # JKBKXEAC99A068384).
The investigation found that the person or persons cut the lock on the
gate just before 1 am Sunday, backed up to the trailer, and hauled it
way and heading towards Highway 25 after the theft, according to video
surveillance footage reviewed.
Also contained in the trailer were numerous tools, toolboxes, racing
gear, and tires. A value of those items were not available at the time
of the incident report being filed but is expected to be several
thousand dollars.
