 Fox Creek student injured in Friday night crash web posted March 8, 2008  MERRIWETHER – The
wrecks continued Friday
night with a Fox Creek student losing control of his Chevrolet S10
pickup on Stephens Road and crashing into a tree. The crash brought
Sheriff’s Deputies, Merriwether Firefighters, and a State Trooper to
the scene. The teen was complaining of upper back pain after the crash.The young man said that he was on his way home when he rounded one of the many curves and the rear of the truck lost traction causing him to plow into the ditch before striking the tree.  Rescuers carefully
extricated the young man from the truck and
immobilized him before loading him into the waiting ambulance to be
transported to the MCG Trauma Unit in Augusta. The roadway was blocked for about an hour. The truck suffered minimal damage. ©
