Pooler Georgia Man Arrested after Suspicious Person Report

web posted March 14, 2014

MERRIWETHER A Cheves Creek Circle woman called the Edgefield County Sheriff's Office to report a strange man lurking around her house around 5 am Wednesday. As the deputy was enroute to the location, he was told the white male had on a brown shirt and tattoos on his arms. The deputy spotted the man walking in the rain near the intersection Cheves Creek Drive and Moore Road.

The man was identified as 31-year-old Gregory Mims of Spring Lakes Circle, Pooler, Ga. The deputy reported a heavy odor of alcohol coming from Mims. The deputy inquired what he was doing in the area and Mims was unsure, an incident report states. Mims did not know if he had been at a nearby house drinking or if he had been dropped off in the area, again, Mims was unable to provide any information.

Mims was arrested for pedestrian drunkenness and transported to the Edgefield County Detention Center for processing.

A short time later came a report of a black Wrangler Jeep parked at the intersection of Cheves Creek and Cheves Creek Circle. A check of the tag came back to Mims. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
