Merriwether Woman Reports Burglary on Gardner Road

web posted March 15, 2013

MERRIWETHER – A Gardner Road woman called the Sheriff's Office after returning to her home just before 6 pm Wednesday to discover she had been the victim of a burglary with guns and electronics missing from the home. The woman informed the deputy that she leaves her back door unlocked at all times, which explained why no forced entry was noted by the reporting deputy.

The woman reported that two guns, a 12 gauge shotgun and a 30-30 rifle with a scope, were missing. She could not provide any make, model, descriptions or serial numbers for the guns. They were valued at $500 a piece.

Also stolen was a Dell Laptop computer valued at $2,000, an XBox gaming system, controllers, and half a dozen games. The woman had no serial numbers for the electronics at the time of the report.

Reports did not indicate if an investigator was called to process the home for evidence. The case has been turned over to the Sheriff's Criminal Investigative Division for further investigation.
