Beating Victim Remains Unresponsive: Investigation Continues

web posted April 2, 2014

MERRIWETHER The discovery of a handicapped man found beaten and unconscious in a pool of his own blood on Sunday morning remains in critical condition at the Trauma Center and on life support, according to family members. The home at 896 Currytown Road remains taped off as a crime scene and the investigation is ongoing. The victim, Greggory Wallace, remains unconscious and the only other person that knows what happened is the one responsible.

Investigators continue to comb the home for forensic evidence as the situation becomes more grave. At this time the Sheriff's Criminal Investigative Division has possible persons of interest, but no solid leads in the case.

Investigators are hoping Wallace will regain consciousness and provide them with the details to charge his attacker. However, at present time it is up to good old fashion police work to track down possible suspects.

Wallace and his estranged wife are in the midst of a disputed divorce and there have been numerous 911 calls to the home over the past several years.

According to friend for the family, the prognosis for Mr. Wallace is grim.

Edgefield Daily will have more information on the case as it becomes available.
