Merriwether rancher reports 17 cows missing web posted May 5, 2007 MERRIWETHER – A Merriwether cattle farmer is missing seventeen cows from his Sweetwater Road farm. The cows are red in color and have been missing for at least two days. The farm is located on Sweetwater Road between Mealing Road and Randall Road. The Sheriff’s Office was notified of the missing cattle late Friday afternoon. It is unknown at this time if the cows may have found a way out of the fenced pastures and wandered off or if they may have been stolen. Residents around the Sweetwater Road area are asked to be on the lookout for the cows. The affected area would be Randall Road, Sylvan Road, Stephens Road, Mealing Road, and as far south as Big Oak Road. If you see one or more of the cows you are asked to call the Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office at 637-5337 or 278-1625 to report their location. For
