Merriwether teen sent to MCG after crash

web posted May 30, 2007
MERRIWETHER – A Merriwether teen was injured in a morning crash on Gregory Lake Road around 9:30 Tuesday morning. The 15-year-old girl was driving a Chevrolet 1500 Silverado pick-up truck south on Gregory Lake Road when she ran off the road and over-corrected causing her to lose control. The truck went off the southbound lane and then rolled twice before coming to rest upside-down in the road.

Merriwether Fire Responders, EMS, and Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the scene. The girl’s mother arrived and consoled the teen as emergency personnel treated her and then immobilized her for transport to MCG by ambulance. The teen complained of pain to the top of her head and had minor contusions and bruises to her face.

The truck sustained heavy damage in the crash and was towed from the scene. Traffic was reduced to one lane for a little over an hour until the wreckage could be cleared.
