  Trailer, 420 bails of straw stolen from Merriwether business web posted June 25, 2010 MERRIWETHER – The Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office was notified that a 21-foot trailer loaded with 420 bails of pine straw was taken from the Rock and Turf business located on Edgefield Road sometime between Tuesday night and Wednesday. According to incident reports, one of the workers noticed the black 7-foot by 21-foot straw trailer was missing and reported the theft. The trailer is a duel wheel trailer with one set of the wheels having white rims and the other two wheels having silver wheels. One of the axles was said to be “bowed”. The tall wire sides of the trailer has top brackets that extend beyond the top of the railings. No serial number or other identifiable markings were reported. The value of the pine straw was listed at $1,470 and the value of the trailer was stated as $1,700. Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 803-278-1625. © Copyright 2010
