SWEETWATER – A Sweetwater man was found dead on the front steps of his home Tuesday morning by a neighbor who last saw him on the same steps days earlier. Jimmy D. Walker, 58, was last seen Sunday afternoon. His body was discovered Tuesday morning.

Deputy Coroner David Burnett said Mr. Walker, who lived on the 400 block of Hickory Drive in The Oaks subdivision, died of natural causes sometime late Sunday afternoon or early evening. “A neighbor had spoken to him Sunday and said they would be back to visit on Tuesday." Mr. Burnett said no foul play was involved and,  "It appears he died of cardiac arrest later that day.”

Edgefield County Deputies and EMS workers cordoned off the area with police tape until the scene could be cleared and the body removed. Deputy Coroner David Burnett said funeral arrangements were being undertaken by the family but did not specify where those arrangements were being made. Most of the family lives in Georgia
Mr. Burnett said.
