  Another home burglarized in the Big Oak Subdivision web posted July 22, 2008 MERRIWETHER – Another home in Merriwether was burglarized on Sunday when the owner returned to find items missing from her home. The woman notified the Sheriff’s Office of the crime around 9:15 pm on her arrival and was away from the home only a few hours. According to police reports, a person or persons unknown entered the home and stole a bedspread cover, food from the refrigerator, picture frames from inside the home, and a lawn chair that was located outside the front door. Reports indicate there was no “forced entry” into the home and a possible suspect has been named in the case. The case is currently under investigation and comes on the heels of the arrest of Phillip Gregory Jones, 37, of nearby Hickory Drive, who was charged with burglary in the third degree and grand larceny in a previous burglary of a nearby home. The two cases are unrelated, reports show. ©
