 Thieves make off with over $5,000 in tools web posted July 26, 2007 MERRIWETHER – A work trailer at the construction site of apartment buildings in Merriwether was the site of a burglary and over $5,000 worth of tools and equipment was stolen. Edgefield County Deputies and an investigator arrived on the scene and began collecting evidence. Blood was found on sharp edges of the metal door that had been opened by some sort of tool and was collected in addition to photographs and a few fingerprints. Among the items missing was a red Honda pressure washer, a n orange and black Stihl TS-400 cut-off saw, a Skill saw , two cordless drills, and an assortment of levels, drop cords, and other hand tools.
