Key family releases new photos in search for Marion Key

Edgefielddaily.com
web posted July  29, 2005

MERRIWETHER – Marion Key’s wife, Melba Key, and family released to Edgefield Daily.com more photos of Marion Key, 74, who has been missing since about 11:15 pm on July 12, 2005. In the photos Mr. Key is seen wearing the exact same clothes he wore the day he went missing. “We thought that someone seeing him wearing the same clothes might jog someone’s mind” family member told us.

Mr. Key, who suffers from Parkinson’s disease, heart disease, and requires dialysis, has been without medications and treatments for sixteen days. Mrs. Key said she is still holding on to the hope that Mr. key got out of his car due to being unable to sit for extended periods of time and became weak and was taken to a hospital.

Edgefield County Sheriff Adell Dobey said his department is still doing all they can to find Mr. Key and wishes their efforts would be successful soon saying he would really like to be able to give the family some answers, “right now we just don’t know where he is,” he said.

An operator of a motor grader for the county said he too has kept his eyes peeled for the car, “We’re all looking for him,” he said adding that county employees were advised of the missing man.

Mr. Key was last seen driving his 1993 Red Geo Metro with a South Carolina handicapped tag bearing the number W49579. The car, pictured left, has a tow bar attached to the front. Anyone with information is asked to call the Edgefield County Sheriff’s Department at 803-637-5337 or 803-278-1625.

Edgefield Daily.com has passed the photos on to other media outlets and the Edgefield County Sheriff's Department. Pictured below is another photo of the car Mr. Key was driving.
