Minor Injuries in Rollover Crash

web posted August 4, 2014

MERRIWETHER The driver of a Ford Explorer let a notorious 90-degree turn on Briggs Road slip up on him Saturday afternoon, and the rail slick roads did not help matters any. The driver was headed north on Briggs Road when he approached the very sharp curve, which is well marked in addition to a 20 mph speed limit, and missed it completely. The SUV bounced through the ditch and entered the field before rolling over.

The report of the crash brought Edgefield County Sheriff's Deputies and EMS to the scene around 1:30 pm. The driver suffered cuts and scrapes in the crash and some small pieces of glass imbedded in one of his arms.

The SUV suffered moderate damage including the driver and passenger windows being shattered as well as the windshield. The South Carolina Highway Patrol investigated the crash and charged the driver with too fast for conditions.

The SUV was towed from the scene.
