Possible suspect identified in rash of Moore Road break-ins

web posted October 4, 2007
MERRIWETHER – Sheriff’s Investigators say they have identified a suspect in the rash of burglaries that have taken place in the Moore Road area recently after another home was burglarized Wednesday afternoon. The homeowner arrived at the home on the 300 block of Moore Road to find a white male inside. The man ran from the home and Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the scene.

The homeowner, who had also been burglarized prior to Wednesday, said she could identify the suspect because he was a neighbor. Investigators and Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the man. They received no response from knocking on the door or calls to the residence.

However, now armed with confirmation of the suspect’s identity, investigators say they should be making an arrest in the case as soon as they can locate the young man. He is described as being a white male around 17 to 18 years of age, blonde to light brown hair, approximately 5-9 to 5-11 with a slender build and a tattoo on his right arm.

His identity was not released due to the ongoing investigation. Due to the homeowner being at the residence at the time the burglary took place the man could face a first degree burglary charge in the matter.
