web posted October 10, 2007 MERRIWETHER – A Merriwether man summoned deputies to his home on the 500 block of Sweetwater Road due to the theft of a dirt bike. Deputies were notified of the call just after noon Monday. The theft is believed to have occurred between noon and 12:28 pm. The resident said, incident reports indicate, that the red and white 2003 Honda XR100 dirt bike was parked next to the house when it went missing. The man said he had contacted his son’s friends to try to locate the missing motorcycle to no avail and did not know who may have taken it. No serial number was provided at the time of the report. The value of the motorcycle was listed at $999. The case has been forwarded on to the Investigative Division which is currently investigating thefts of other dirt bikes and four-wheelers. The sporadic thefts are not considered to be related. For all
