  Two Women Robbed at Gunpoint Wednesday night web posted October 12, 2012 MERRIWETHER – Two women called 911 after they were approached by two men and robbed at gunpoint while sitting in a car in the driveway of a Royal Place home just after 10 pm Wednesday. The armed men demanded the women's pocketbooks and the keys to the car. One woman gave up her pocketbook to the second robber before the driver sped away to escape. The men were seen jumping into a dark colored vehicle and fled towards North Augusta. According to radio traffic at the time of the incident, the South Carolina Highway Patrol was reported to be involved in a pursuit of the suspect vehicle in Aiken County a short time later; however the outcome of the chase remains unknown at this time. The woman who did hand over her pocketbook said there was no cash and only some personal items inside. No value was listed on the official report.
