Merriwether Fall Carnival sees large crowd Edgefielddaily.com web posted October 17, 2005 MERRIWETHER – The Merriwether Elementary Fall Carnival was a huge success this past Saturday as parking overflowed onto Springhaven Drive and Murrah Road. Throngs of families filled the parking lot and the cafeteria with games, raffles, slides, and entertainment from several local youth groups.  The weather could
not have been better with clear skies and
temperatures topping out at 80 for the day. Event organizers said they
were very pleased with the turnout. A short photo essay follows showing
the local children, and parents, enjoying the day. Kids enjoyed the
many slides, air rock wall, and other activities Merriwether Firemen
