  Thieves Lose Trailer after Caught in the Act web posted October 23, 2012 MERRIWETHER – Two men who were attempting to steal one or more golf carts from the yard of an Amelia Drive home just before 5 am Friday morning. The homeowner was awakened by the noise as was a neighbor and they confronted the two men, described only as black males, who jumped into the truck to flee the scene - losing the trailer hooked to the truck and leaving it behind. A Sheriff's Deputy arrived just minutes later and others patrolled the area in an unsuccessful effort to locate the truck the men were driving. The deputy collected information while an investigator was en route to the scene, which was processed for evidence. The trailer the men were going to use to haul off the golf carts was also seized as evidence.
