Flying squirrels rescued Edgefielddaily.com web posted October 24, 2005  MERRIWETHER

Lara Yost rescued two baby flying squirrels from her parent’s lake
house at Clarks Hill and is bottle feeding the two squirrels who she
said were only a few weeks old. She said that by keeping the two
together they would both survive, “The last two I found, I gave one to
a friend to raise, and mine died,” she said. Together the two seem to
be adjusting well and are eating on a regular basis. Ms. Yost said she has rescued other squirrels and placed them where the parent could find them, “Once I put one where the mother could find it and she came down and carried it away flying from tree to tree,” she said. Currently Ms. Yost is caring from another squirrel she rescued.
