Sheriff's Deputies find driver of "rolling
wreck" Edgefielddaily.com web posted October 27, 2005 MERRIWETHER – Shortly after 1 am a report of a car crash on the 400 block of Murrah Road came in with possible entrapments and smoke. First Responders and Firemen in the area found no wreckage, but the Edgefield County Sheriff’s Department had better luck. It seems after the driver had taken out the school warning sign on the southbound side of Murrah Road then turned around and tried to make a quick get away. The driver was stopped a short distance away by Edgefield County Deputy Sheriff Deputy Curtis Morris. Debris from the wreckage included the bumper of the car along with the sign left beside the roadway. Part of the car’s undercarriage housing was found in the northbound lane. At this writing the scene was still being ascertained and at press time no further details were available.
