  Thieves abscond with $36,000 in equipment web posted October 30, 2008 MERRIWETHER – Monday morning brought the discovery of at least $36,000 in farm equipment from a location off Sweetwater Road. It is believed the tractor and other associated equipment went missing between Saturday night and Monday afternoon. According to incident reports, the owner arrived on Cooper Place and found his 2007 Kobota 8540 tractor (serial number 51894) and a Kobota loader with a black 4-way bucket (serial number A4155) missing. The tractor and the loader were both orange in color. The tractor has a dent on the hood. The case is currently under investigation by the Sheriff’s Investigative Division. Anyone wth in formation is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 803-637-5337 or 803-278-1625. The equipment was valued at approximately $36,000. ©
