Vintage Victors for a Cure Golf Tournament raises over $11,000 for
cancer research
web
posted October 30, 2009
MERRIWETHER – A
reception to thank
volunteers who helped the Breast Cancer Prevention Coalition put on the
first Vintage Victors for a Cure Golf Tournament was held Tuesday,
October 27th in the lobby of the new Medical College of Georgia
Research Center. The tournament had 108 participants. All of the money
will go directly to cancer research being done at MCG.
The focus of the BCPC is to support and mentor local cancer patients. A
good number of volunteers were at the reception and enjoyed learning
more about the Center’s work.
The BCPC’s Treasurer, MaryBeth Smith has been very busy because the
photo shows BCPC founder and President, Nita Zachow presenting Dr.
Bhalla, head of the Research Center, and Jim Osborne, President
and CEO of the MCG Foundation, a check for $11,855. Ms. Zachow said
this is just the beginning.
The website for the Breast Cancer Prevention Coalition can be found at
http:/www.bcpccsra.org and has a great deal of information for cancer
patients and for those wishing to join the BCPC.
