  Merriwether Fire Department receives $10,000 grant from BP Products of North America web posted December 6, 2007  MERRIWETHER –
Merriwether Fire Chief Faye
Fulmer was surprised at their Christmas Banquet on Wednesday night by a
large grant from BP Products of North America. Michael J. Hastings, BP
Terminal Manager, and Don Mitchem of BP presented Chief Fulmer with a
check for $10,000. “I’ve been working on this grant for some time now
and it is my privilege to present it to the Merriwether Fire
Department,” Mr. Hastings said. Chief Fulmer said the money would be put to good use and a fair portion of it would be used to make the needed repairs to a ladder truck that was donated to the department earlier this year. “Thank you so much,” Chief Fulmer said. After the ceremonial presentation of the “big check” Mr. Hastings presented the chief with the actual check. Mr. Hastings said BP has always been involved in their local communities and donates over $12 million to charities across the country. ©
