Merriwether Woman Reports Theft of Safe, Prescription Medications

web posted December 14, 2013

MERRIWETHER A Currytown Boulevard woman called the Sheriff's Office Thursday after discovering a fireproof safe containing a number of narcotic prescription medications missing from a locked closet in the couple's bathroom. Among the drugs was oxycodone and percocet, two highly sought after drugs on the street. The woman was able to provide deputies with the name of a suspect.

According to an incident report, the woman said a friend of hers arrived with a male friend on Sunday for a visit. On Thursday the man came back with another man and she allowed the two into the home. At one point the first man asked if she had anything for pain and she stated she did not and asked him to leave. Meanwhile she continued to talk to the second man as the first disappeared.

A few minutes later the men left. Later that night she discovered the small safe missing.

The woman was able to provide the name of the main suspect and his employer. The same suspect has been mentioned in at least two incident reports this week, one mentioning an addiction to prescription pain killers.
