Santa arrives in Merriwether
web posted December 16, 2005

MERRIWETHER – Children gathered at the Merriwether Fire Department Station 3 to meet Santa Claus as he arrived with lights and sirens blaring. Several children began jumping up and down with excitement as Santa entered the building with his signature “Ho Ho Ho”.

One by one the children climbed onto Santa’s lap to tell them what they wanted for Christmas. After each had their turn Merriwether Fire Chief Faye Fullmer took a turn telling Santa she wanted a new car. The children and parents enjoyed hot dogs and hamburgers cooked by some of the firemen before going to the Christmas tree to pick a gift off the tree to take home.

Everyone enjoyed the fellowship and a special thanks goes out to all the Merriwether Volunteer Firefighters who took time to make the visit with Santa possible.
