Minor Injuries in Roll-Over Crash

web posted December 23, 2013

COUNTY The driver of a Jeep Cherokee was heading east on Woodlawn Road around 2 pm Sunday when he ran off the road while exiting a curve and the wet grass caused him to loose control. The driver stated that by the time he tried to get control the SUV was already sliding sideways and, "I was just along for the ride," he said. And a wild ride it was.

The Jeep went off the opposing side of the road and rolled down a steep wooded embankment and came to rest on its side some 20 feet below the roadway. It was heavily damaged and was considered a total loss.

The man was able to climb out of the wreckage and crawl up the embankment in order to report the crash and to call his bother, who responded to the scene.

Other than a few bumps, bruises and a few small cuts, the driver was fine and did not request an ambulance.

The road had to be shut down while the SUV was pulled back up the embankment and towed away.
