Merriwether
Elementary presents “Sounds of the Season” Christmas CD
web
posted September 24, 2007
MERRIWETHER – The students, faculty, staff
and administrators of Merriwether Elementary have teamed up to combine
school spirit with Christmas spirit in a 13-song holiday CD. "Sounds of
the Season" is the stocking-stuffer that gives back: Proceeds will
directly benefit Merriwether's music education program. Packaged
professionally in Nashville, the CD will feature traditional,
multicultural and fantasy songs of Christmas. The songs, including
“Jingle Bells”, “Up on the Housetop”, and “Deck the Halls”, were
rearranged and recorded by music specialist Johnny Carr.
The songs spotlight soloists of all ages, from pre-k to fifth-graders,
several teachers' voices and a chorus of hundreds. The CD will also
contain an instrumental version of each song, allowing buyers to use
the tracks for live performances. The fresh and exciting music offers a
large variety of voices, rendering a true Merriwether masterpiece.
Now is the time to order "Sounds of the Season." All requests must be
in by Friday, Oct. 5. This is a perfect chance to get some early
shopping for Christmas gifts while helping our school. The CDs will be
delivered from Nashville by Thanksgiving break. Make checks payable to
Merriwether Elementary School.
Cost for the CD’s are $10 each, two for $18, or save more with three
for just $24.
