One Woman Arrested, Second Sought in Thursday Burglary

web posted March 19, 2013

MURPHY VILLAGE – One Murphy Village woman has been arrested and a second woman is sought in the burglary to a Merriwether woman's home while she was in the hospital. The two women are accused of calling the hospitalized woman to ask when she would be home. Once they had that information they went to the woman's home and stole four televisions and a VCR.

Arrested Friday afternoon was Kathleen O'Hara Gorman, 48, of Kennedy Drive in Murphy Village (Left). According to a previous incident reports, Gorman admitted to the burglary and helped investigators recover the stolen property at a second woman's home.

Gorman was released on Monday on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond for a single count of burglary in the first degree.

The Sheriff's Office is still trying to locate the second woman for a similar charge, but has not been arrested by press time. Her name is not being released until an arrest has been made.
