More Fights Follow Friday Night Stabbing in Murphy Village

web posted December 31, 2013

MURPHY VILLAGE At least one person has been charged and another transported to an area hospital early Saturday morning following the stabbing of a 42-year-old Murphy Village man on Friday night. A 21-year-old Blanch Street man was transported to the hospital by EMS with cuts to his head and face after a fight between him and a Kennedy Drive man. The victim refused to cooperate with deputies, however, they were able to identify the man's attacker.

According to an incident report released on Monday, the victim refused to file charges against his attacker.

Not long before that fight, a North Augusta woman reported being attacked by 48-year-old Elizabeth Ann Harrison of Kenney Drive as she dropped off her boyfriend just after midnight. The woman claimed Harrison began yelling at her and attacked her through the open window in her car.

The victim did have injuries including a cut to her lip and a bruise on her hand. Deputies spoke with Harrison, who also had injuries, and she denied attacking the woman. After the investigation, Harrison was charged with assault and battery in the third degree on a summons, but was not taken in for booking. No court date was available.

Sheriff's Deputies made a heavy presence in the community all weekend due to the increase in violence.

As of this time, no one has been charged in the Friday night stabbing that sent the victim to the Trauma Center following a large fight in the church parking lot. That case remains under active investigation.
