Former Sheriff’s Investigator Don Bullock found deceased at home
web
posted August 28, 2009
NORTH AUGUSTA – A former investigator with
the Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office was found deceased in his home in
North Augusta Thursday morning. Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton said
former investigator Don Bullock had a chronic history of cardiac
problems and was recently diagnosed with cancer. News of the death
reached the Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office around noon.
Deputies and Investigators began reminiscing about Inv. Bullock’s more
than ten years on the force. He left the Sheriff’s Office in 2002.
Sheriff Adell Dobey was saddened to learn the news of Bullock’s passing
expressing condolences for the family and friends. “Don worked for me
for about two years after I took office (in 2000),” Sheriff Dobey said
adding he was a dedicated officer that served admirably in his duties
and, "our thoughts and prayers go out to his family
and friends during this difficult time.”
Johnston Police Chief Chris Aston, also formerly an Investigator with
the Sheriff’s Office, was stunned to hear the news. “He was a fine
man,” Aston said. “I hate to hear it (news of the death), I really do.”
Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements, which
have not been finalized at this time. EdgefieldDaily.com will publish
visitation and funeral announcements as soon as they are made
available.
EdgefieldDaily.com offers our deepest sympathy on behalf of our
writers, contributors, and news partners in the passing of Inv. Bullock.
