EdgefieldDaily.com story goes national

web posted May 4, 2006

WEBNEWS – EdgefieldDaily.com reported on the mysterious animals being spotted in the Merriwether and Clark Hill area and identified them as Patagonian cavy’s, native to Brazil. Since we broke our story, other media outlets in the area picked it up and contacted us for permission to use our photos and information. Of course, we granted them the permission and the story has taken on a life of its own, first being seen across the two state areas, and now nationally.

Wednesday morning a reader sent us a link to a story MSNBC ran on their web site, and on the air we were told by another reader. We looked at the web site and our pictures, with no credit to EdgefieldDaily.com, were there.

One thing is for certain;
millions of eyes across the nation are on Edgefield County this week as our story has been linked in blogs, web sites, and other news reports across the nation. EdgefieldDaily.com would like to thank our readers for contributing the photos and for sending us the links to the many media outlets that have reproduced it.

It is not everyday that an Edgefield County media outlet produces a story that goes national. We are rather proud that the nation is so intrigued with our report.

Maybe Rush Limbaugh or Neal Bortz will pick the story up under an “illegal immigration” angle. Anything is possible.
