Happy 25th Anniversary

A message from the Editor
web posted October 28, 2008
EDITOR – Thirty-one years ago I saw 15-year-old Genia Adams on her first day of school at Strom Thurmond High. To say I was awestruck would be an understatement. I could not take my eyes off her and approached to introduce myself to this angel on Earth. However, the only words that would come out of my mouth were, “I’m going to marry you.” To this day she will tell you she thought I was crazy, and over the years I admit I have given her several reasons to believe that to be true. Yet, six years later, on October 28, 1983, she made me the luckiest man in the world when she allowed me to take her hand and heart in marriage.

Although that was 25 years ago today it seems like yesterday. The mesmerizing effect she had on me that fateful day has only increased over the years. Perhaps that is why it seems like it has been such a short time when in reality our relationship has spanned well over a quarter of a century.

Through the ebb and flow of the years, trials and tribulations challenged us, but our love for each other was never daunted and always led us from tumultuous storms into brighter days. With the aid of our strong belief in the meaning of, “What God has joined together, let no man set apart,” we knew, and still know, that God can and will protect those that honor His blessings and will.

To my still blushing bride let me say happy anniversary. I thank God each day for the gift He gave to me. Not just a wife, but rather a soul mate, a partner, an equal, and a confidant.

It proves God will bestow "riches" untold to those that are unworthy. Wealth may be measurable in monetary means, but riches are of the soul.
