Christmas Give-Away winners announced, plus a “Bonus drawing”

web posted December 19, 2007
WEBNEWS – The drawing for the winners of this year’s Christmas Give-Away must enjoy eating out as both winners chose local restaurants for their gift certificates. We would like to thank the record number of entries in the contest. After each entry form was folded four times it took a box of twelve cubic feet to hold them all.

The first drawing for the first prize of a $50 gift certificate had to be disqualified for an incomplete entry form and that led to Steve Blizard of Johnston becoming the next name drawn. Mr. Blizard said he reads EdgefieldDaily.com every day. “I love the Wandering Minds,” he said when notified. “You do a wonderful job and I appreciate it very much.” Mr. Blizard will receive a $50 gift certificate to the Ten Governor’s Café in Edgefield. His entry was received by mail.

The second place winner is John G. Biddlecome of Merriwether. He too is a daily reader and learned of EdgefieldDaily.com from a family member, according to his entry form which was received by mail. Mr. Biddlecome will receive a $25 gift certificate to Pizza Hut in Edgefield.

Due to the overwhelming response to the contest, and it being the Christmas season, EdgefieldDaily.com held a third “Bonus” drawing for a $25 gift certificate. The winner of the “Bonus” drawing was Goldie Brooks of Trenton. Ms. Brooks said she has been a, “loyal daily reader,” for over a year and her favorite page is the Wandering Minds. She will receive a gift certificate to Petal Pushers in Edgefield. Her entry was also received by mail.

As promised, once the results of the poll taken on the entry forms as to how readers learned of EdgefieldDaily.com, how often they read, and the name of the businesses listed as preferred are totaled, the forms will be destroyed and no names, addresses, or email address will be kept on file with the exception of the winners.

New contests will begin in 2008.
