  2007: One of County's most deadly web posted December 31, 2007 WEBNEWS – 2007 has been a deadly year for Edgefield County with a possible record twelve deaths recorded, two of them the victims of murder. Not counting natural deaths or suicides, six people have lost their lives in fatal crashes, two due to horseback incidents, two the victims of murder with an associated suicide, and one from and industrial accident.
